Himayath dips his pen into his past and returns to ink an episodic novel influenced by people around him about Arhan, a 2000s young man with much to learn about the many complications of living a simple middle-class life.

The
Indomitable Heart

15th MARCH 2024

A free-to-read, coming-of-age online fortnightly episodic novel launched.

The author's varied background and zest for trying things have seen him work in several industries and companies of repute. From an ever-forming and growing young India, Himayath weaves a character borrowing from experiences of the many exciting and vivid lives he has encountered melded with a bit of the one he lived into a racy fortnightly episodic novel, four to five minutes (or so) at a time.

Aside from keeping it light, fun, and a speedy read, his intent behind this venture is to further the habit of reading in people who don't have patience for 150 to 300 pages and are happy consuming bite-sized stories on the go. You can read the novel here. Also, don't forget to subscribe if you want to be the first to be reminded when the subsequent episode drops.

Himayath participated in a writing challenge organized monthly by Bookleaf Publishing in India. The challenge is to write 21 poems over 21 days. Himayath participated, and the result is– Referred Pain, a collection of 21 poems on mental health and emotional well-being. The book observes mental health issues arising from toxic familial surroundings as stories, narrating them as poetry.

Referred Pain

1st SEPTEMBER 2023

A Collection of select stories on mental health and emotional well-being as poems launched.

While Himayath takes this book as an extended training ground from his Instagram handle @khanate.online to the pages of this book, he feels several people will relate to the settings presented in the poems as common ground. From his memory growing up, he observes that these situations are standard for many families across India's middle and working classes. Himayath feels there is much more that people can take away from this short book, beginning with talking about uncomfortable situations involving peers and families and ending with seeking professional help. We would love to know your take on his poetry. His book is available for purchase worldwide as a pdf from bookleafpub.in and can be delivered to your homes in India in book form from Flipkart.com and Amazon.in.
